Guardian Law Group Investigating Cargill Class Action

May 01, 2020

Guardian Law Group is investigating the possibility of launching a Class Action lawsuit against Cargill Meat Solutions due to the poor handling of the recent COVID-19 outbreak at their High River processing plant.

To date, over 900 employees have been confirmed to test positive for the virus, with at least one employee having already died as a result. These numbers do not include families of staff members, or others who would have come in contact with Cargill employees.

There is evidence of negligence on the part of the plant’s management team, with reports in the media of employees being encouraged to return to work despite testing positive for COVID-19. No PPE’s were provided to most staff members, nor were proper social distancing measures put in place.

Currently this plant accounts for the largest workplace contamination of COVID-19 in Canada.
